There are huge investments being made
in wind power in the north of Sweden

Almost all municipalities are taking part in the investments. The goal for the municipality of Piteå is to be the centre for the wind power industry in the Barents region. Investments are being made in for example Bondön, Jävre, Blåsmark and offshore in Klocktärnan. Above all Piteå has seeked permission for Svevind to build 1101 wind turbines in Markbygden. This investment would create the largest wind turbine park in Europe.

A new arrangement within the wind power industry, Nolia Wind, will therefore be established November, 11-12 in Piteå.

Conference: Lectures addressing issues that are relevant for the Barents Region, including investments in the Barents region, wind power in a cold climate, wind power in a forest environment and the electricity grid. Furthermore, the intention is to allow manufacturer and developer an opportunity to introduce themselves and describe what type of collaboration they are seeking in the Barents region.

Trade fair: A trade fair with exhibitors within the areas that touch on all of the conferences during the week – that is, wind power, energy, biorefinery and industrial wooden construction.

Study tour: A study tour to Markbygden, where 1101 wind turbines are going to be installed.

Networking: The conference will offer the oppurtunities to bothe spontaneous meetings.
